The Three Jewel Refuge Ceremony at Hoa Phuc Pagoda, Ha Noi
Update: 29/12/2020
On Dec. 27nd, 2020, nearly 500 people over the country returned to Hoa Phuc Pagoda to attend the only Three Jewels refuge ceremony in 2020.
The monks and members of the organizers gave enthusiastic instructions on how to recite the Buddha's name, instructing the postures: clasping hands, bowing to the Buddha, walking, standing, sitting, lying, eating, drinking, sleeping ...
At 8:00, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Hoa, the abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda shared the Buddhist Dharma with the participants. Junior Ven. summarized the development history of Vietnamese Buddhism and the centuries-old customs of worshiping the people of Vietnam.
With a sincere and humorous teaching style, Ven. explained about taking refuge in the Three Jewels, about the five precepts for Buddhists, such as, no killing, no robbery, no adultery, no lying and drinking.
The refuge ceremony officially took place in a solemn and pure atmosphere. The participants took a vow to repeat three times: "I take refuge in the Buddha, Dharma and Sangha" and vowed diligently to keep the precepts step by step steadily on the Buddhist path.
After that, Buddhist Ha Thi Ba Thinh had a few thoughts about attending the ceremony and receiving the religious name.
At the end of the ceremony, Buddhist Le Vu Thuy Duong smiled happily while holding the "Three Jewels refuge certificate" in her hand. Since then, Thuy Duong will participate in a new spiritual life with a new way depending on the Three Jewels to practice for enlightenment and deliverance.
