The Ullambana ceremony of pious gratitude at Co Am Pagoda in Nghe An Province

In the morning of August 27th, 2017 (lunar July 6th, Rooster Year) Co Am Pagoda celebrated the great Ullambana for pious gratitude for over 800 good man and believing woman on the area of Nghe An Province.

During some last days, the weather was not convenient from some rainings which had continuously spread over the region of Dien Chau District, and many places in Nghe An Province. However, as wonderful support from the parents’s significant and magical festival, before three hours to begin the ceremony, the weather was nice, and one hour after finishing the ceremony, it rained again.

Coming to the festival this year, the religious believers at everywhere had a chance for their settling mind in accompanying with the program that has many performances in other levels of emotion. The program began in the solemn rite welcoming to martyrs with the memory‘s speech which is written by the Junior Abbot Ven. of Pagoda Co Am with the gratitude spirit of the Buddha's children.

Next was a moved play about the mother. Although, the play was simple, it is full of enthusiastism from Buddhists. Then, this is the most importance iterm in the ceremony. That is the sacred rite of pinning roses by the meaningful speech. Although the ceremony at Co Am Pagoda still got some small faults in the organizational plan, any ones who attended to this festival had their emotion to the pagoda and understand clearly the sacred meaning as well as the pious spirit by the message that the organizers reminded call people in this Ullambana festival of parents’ gratitude.
