The wedding ceremony at Dong Cao – Thanh Hoa province

In December 25th, 2017 (November 8th, Rooster year), A wedding ceremony was organized at Dong Cao pagoda for the couple: Mr. Nguyen Bien Cuong and Ms. Mai Ngoc Hoa.

The wedding ceremony n the pagoda is a cultural and national remark. It also successfully develops   the basic mindset and spiritual manner for us. This teaches us how to be a useful member and a contributor for our family and the society. The ceremony is the perfect mixture between our traditions, culture and the   spiritual culture of Buddhism, which becomes the beautiful remark of marriage of the Buddhists.

To a Buddhist, to be organized his/her own wedding ceremony at the pagoda is a glory joy. Under the ascertainment of Triratna and both families’ members, the couple swore that they would live side by side until last days of their life and ensured the rules which had been taught by the Buddha.

After the ritual of the wedding ceremony such as: praying to Buddha, the representatives from both families had speeches, put on each other rings,… Bhadanta Thich Tam Hung, the abbot of Dong Cao pagoda, on behalf of the abbots, taught the couple about the marriage manners.

The key point to protect a happiness of a family is the concord. The husband and the wife agreed with each other to make the family happy; the parents agreed with their children to help teach them easier. To Buddhism, the six points of reverent harmony of unity was taught by the Buddha to the Buddhists in order to bring peace and unity among them. If we know how to apply these six points to our live, they will make the family steady and happiest.
