The Wedding Ceremony at the pagoda
Update: 01/11/2020
Hoang Phap Pagoda organized a ceremony of wedding on Nov. 1st, 2020 (Sep. 16th, LC) for three couples as following:
1. Ngo Van Vo (dharma name Tinh Vo)
Nguyen Thi Lai (dharma name Duc Hoa)
2. Le Hoang Tam
Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi (dharma name Lien Nhi)
3. Nguyen Tuan Loc (dharma name Tinh Loc)
Vu Thi Tuoi (dharma name Lien Hoa)
The Wedding ceremony is an opportunity for the bride and groom to listen to the Vennerables preaching Buddha teachings on morality: being a new wife, husband, as well as becoming parents in the next generation. The wedding rite at the pagoda is to create the chance for the couple to return to rely on the Three Jewels as well as the support of Buddhist venerable.
Under the witness of the Triple Jewel and their relatives, the groom and bride performed traditional rites, such as prostrating Three Jewels and parents, giving wedding rings for each other and vowing whole life to live up to follow the moral principles that Buddha taught.
Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, Abbot of Hoang Phap Pagoda, on behalf of present Monks had teachings on the principles of husband and wife. The key to a happy family is harmony. "Harmony" is the root of happiness. The husband and wife getting along will be a warm and happy couple, the parents getting along with their children will maintain family morality, and the education for the next generations will be easier.
In addition, Senior Ven. reminded the couple to prepare carefully the necessary things for their future. It is the returning to rely on the Three Jewels, keeping on five precepts. Each member in the family needs to study Buddha Dharma, live a good life, and believe in the law of cause and effect. The five precepts are the basic ethics of being human. The keeper of five precepts will have peace for this life and the next one.
