Third day of Summer Retreat 2022 at Hoang Phap Pagoda

On the morning of July 22th, 2022, which was the third day of the retreat, all students were overwhelmed with emotions when thinking about their parents' gratitude by a lecture from Junior Thich Tam An, Abbot of Hung Phap Pagoda, Dong Nai with theme “What I want to say…!”

The existence of each individual in this life is thanks to the birth of parents, who have devoted their whole lives to their children. A child is the greatest work created from the love, tears and efforts of parents. Therefore, the most precious thing in life is to have parents with us.

The monk emotionally confided to the audience about his broken promise in the past and the memory of his father before dying moments. Thus, filial piety does not need to be a sublime thing but rather not to annoy parents’ minds. Let's do it now, because impermanent life cannot wait for our success.

In the afternoon, the exchange program between Educational activist Gian Tu Trung and his listeners with the topic "Talking about Learning"

Educator Gian Tu Trung is currently the Principal of PACE Business School; Director of Institute of Education IRED; Vice President of Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Fund. He received a Master's degree in Development Studies from Geneva Graduate Institute; Refresher course in International Education Policy at Harvard University; Doctor of Education at the National Institute of Education Singapore; PhD in Education at University College London (UCL).

First, in the talk show with young people about "Liberal Education", Master Gian Tu Trung talked about the new state and context of the VUCA, PAID era - a world full of unpredictable changes in order to help listeners understand clearly about the times, deals with gently and face-to-face reality to be free, leisurely. The generation of young people needs to form a new system of values and beliefs for themselves, families and society in facing challenged and reversed millennial values. That is the belief in learning in the new world. Recognizing the purpose of learning with sure achievements is the sustainable success, true happiness.

After the evening cultural exchange, young practitioners review known things, then learn about the Buddha and His disciples and teachings, as well as about the pagoda named Hoang Phap.
