Ullambana Ceremony 2020

The Ullambana season of this year has come back while the Covid -19 epidemic broke out again, therefore, Hoang Phap Pagoda solemnly organized the great Ullambana ceremony 2020 within the inner of pagoda on the morning of Sep. 2nd, 2020 (lunar July 15th, year of mouse).
At 9:00 am, the solemn atmosphere welcomed the monks to enter the main hall of Dharma Wheel Building. Then, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Quy recited the bell - chanting to enlarge the hall gravity.
After declaring the reason and introducing the main program, the rose-badge rite was carried out.Then the lay Buddhist Thai Bao Tran had a speech on the meaning of rose-badge pinning on the musical background of Artist Van Anh. Finish the speech, everyone spent a minute in remembrance of the kinds of parents, teachers, nation, and sentient beings.
The yellow rose symbolizes purity and nobility and it was pinned to the monk’s robe to pay their gratitude to parents. Next, on the musical background of The rose-badge, the Buddha's disciples felt the sacredness and intimacy when receiving the rose. This melody made the hall sink into tears and emotion.
Next, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Vuong gave a speech about parents to express the filial spirit of the Buddha's disciples. In this overwhelming emotion, the mass turned their eyes to watch a video of the gratitude and wishing of the ordination children to the parents, who gave him this body to study, practice and preach dharma.
Buddhist Cao Thien Trang on behalf of devout Buddhists doing Robe - offering to the monks. Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh gave some words to praise the unshaken faith of all Buddhists.
The Senior Ven. talked about the reason for the epidemic, so this ceremony will not be held in a crowded assembly, but only internally; To the spirit of commemorating his parents, the Buddha's disciples returned to the pagoda to attend the ceremony. The Senior Ven. talked about the origin of the Ullambana season by the story of Ven. Moggallana and the way of expressing gratitude for the procreator.
We are present in this life not by a god but from our parents. Showing gratitude by living well, protecting the body, nurturing the spirit to have a healthy and good life. At the same time, we show parents' gratitude not only physically but also guide our parents to the path of faith, precept, almsgiving, wisdom and sowing good seeds in this life and in the future.
As usual the final section of the ceremony is the Ullambana sutra chant for people to contemplate great merit of their fathers and mothers.
In the program, there was also participation of singers Ho Quang Hieu, Dieu Ly, Thuy Duong, Ha The Dung....
