Ullambana Ceremony at Hung Phap Pagoda - Dong Nai Province

On 02/09/2018 (lunar July 23rd, the year of dog), nearly 2000 Buddhist believers returned to Hung Phap Pagoda, Hamlet 1A, Xuan Hung Commune, Xuan Loc District, Dong Nai Province to attend Ullambana festival.
At 9 a.m, the program Ullambana ceremony officially took place in the witness by venerable Thich Thien Hoa - the Abbot of Bat Nha Pagoda, Venerable Thich Chieu Dinh - The Abbot of Thien Lam Pagoda, the monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda, and the monks and nuns of the province.
After the ritual of reciting the Buddha's name, declarating of the reason, introducing of the program and participants, is the ritual flower offerings by the children in buddhist families of Hung Phap Temple. Continuing the program, all mass was listened to Buddhist Lien Trang read the meaning of attaching roses - the rose symbolizes the noble sentiments of the children for their parents. In that sacred moment, the mass spent a moment of silence in commermorating of tremendous merit of the Buddhas, the gratitude to the Founder, the gratitude to parents for giving birth and bring up them. Besides, this is also the gratefulness to the soldiers' souls forgetting ownself for the peace and happiness of people.
Ven Thich Tam An, the Abbot of Hung Phap Pagoda, offered his mother with the most beautiful string of beads and corolla to show his filial piety and deep gratitude in the celebration of Ullambana.
Then, the buddhist youths of Hung Phap Temple, on behalf of the participants, respectly offerred alms things to the Sangha Venerable in the melodious melody of the song "Giving Clothes".
At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Tam An had a few messages about Ullambana. At first, Venerable has told of the great example of the Buddha in the home - returning trip of supporting His father King - Suddhodana. Then, it was the story of Saint Maudgalyayana helping his mother escape suffering in hell of ghost hungry. In addition, Ven reminded Buddhists that each person needs real cultivation, encouraging parents and all beings know the refuge to the Three Jewels. It is all actions derived from loving heart that can change the present situation and create more joy for the parents. On the season of Ullambana, we should encourage everyone to do the same.
At the end of the ceremony is the memorial rite of praying the Buddha and chanting Ullambana rite for remembering the sea - sky merit of the dad and mum.
