Ullumbana Ceremony at Hoang Phap Pagoda in Cambodia

On August 11th, 2019 (Lunar July 11th, year for the Pig), the monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Viet Nam came to the Kingdom of Cambodia to attend the Ulumbana Great Ceremony at Hoang Phap Cambodia Temple.

On August 11th, 2019 (Lunar July 11th, year for the Pig), the monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Viet Nam came to the Kingdom of Cambodia to attend the Ulumbana Great Ceremony at Hoang Phap Cambodia Temple.

At 9a.m., The Ulumbana Great Ceremony took place under the witness of the Vietnam and Cambodia Sangha, as well as the presence of nearly 1,000 Buddhists from both countries.

After the ceremony of reciting Buddha's name for blessing, declaring the cause, introducing the program and the participants, Venerable Thich Tam Truc, abbot of Hoang Phap Cambodia pagoda, gave the opening speech. Next, the Buddhists of Hoang Phap Cambodian temple read The Meaning of A Rose Pinning.The penitence minute is a silence for all people to settle their thoughts and think about mistakes that they invaded for their Parents.

Next, young Buddhists on behalf of the masses, sincerely devoted to making clothing offerings to the Venerables.

At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Duc An, Abbot of Phuoc Thien Pagoda (Neak Loeung, Peam Ror, Prey Veng, Cambodia) on behalf of present monks praised the filial spirit, filial piety of all Buddhists and promised to offer clothing offerings to the Buddha. The venerable also had a few words to encourage the masses.

The last part of the Ulumbana Great Ceremony was to recite the Ulumbana chanting so that the masses can direct their hearts to their parents.
