Vesak Ceremony 2018

In the morning of May 29th, 2018 (April 15th, Lunar Calendar), in the joy of greeting the Buddha’s birthday, all the Vietnamese Buddhist followers celebrate the Vesak 2562 (Buddhist calendar) and Hoang Phap temple is also solemn with the Vesak ceremony. Thousand devout Buddhist had come and join in.
At 9 am, three rolls of Prajna’s drum and the bell was sounded for greeting the monks to enter the stage for starting the rite of incense offering to the Buddha. The sound of chanting ripples in space makes the solemnity of the ceremony and people all spread their devout heart to the Buddha at that moment. Sharing that gladness, the monks release hundreds of balloons up to the sky for the peace of the world and compassion to everywhere. Thousands of people put their palms to pray for happiness and sending to all living beings.
Having addressed the reason and introduced the ceremony program, people all spent one minute for recalling the Buddha’s grace. Then Venerable Thich Tam Vuong, on the behalf of the organizers, had a speech on the Vesak and Venerable Thich Tam Manh addressed its meaning.
In the general joy of people, Venerable Thich Chan Tinh had a Talk to people, reminded them to follow the Buddha himself for self-practice and learning. To make more clear about the Buddha’s life, Venerable represented the abstract history of the Buddha from He was a Bodhisattva on Tusita heaven then came to our Saha world, His great leaving, practicing, became enlightenment, and finally entered Nivarna. Today, we still can learn His teaching it’s because of the great compassion of the Buddha to all of us. At last, Venerable emphasized that the way we apply Dharma to be happy and free forever, no more rolling in the circle of birth and death is the best present to offer and repay the Buddha.
To offer to the Buddha on the Vesak, some singers like Giang Hong Ngoc, Duong Quoc Hung also joined with their songs: April’s Full Moon and Worship the Buddha.
