Vesak Ceremony at Cham Joun Uri Pagoda - South Korea

On May 03, 2017 (April 08, lunar calendar), based on the invitation of Buddhists from Jeonchu city, South Korea, Venerable Thich Tam Dao and Hoang Phap delegation came to Cham Joun Uri pagoda to attend Vesak ceremony and delivered Dharma talk to Vietnamese Buddhists there.
In the morning, the ceremony was solemnly celebrated in the main hall of the pagoda with the participation of the abbot and sangha of Cham Joun Uri pagoda, Hoang Phap clergy delegation, and Korean/Vietnamese Buddhists living, working and studying there.
After rituals for Vesak and the abbot’s speaking, Venerable Thich Tam Dao gave a speech congratulating the ceremony. On behalf of Vietnamese Buddhists in Jeonchu city, he sent his gratefulness to the abbot and sangha of Cham Joun Uri pagoda for their kindness supporting worship place for Vietnamese Buddhists practicing.
In the afternoon, Reverend Thich Tam Dao had a lecture to Vietnamese Buddhists.
Buddhist Gia Trung on behalf of the ashram offered the appeal for Dharma talk.
During the session, Venerable Thich Tam Dao reminded the mass the precious chance being human. We should take full advantage of the opportunity to cultivate to be better and better. In particular, Venerable reiterated the importance/benefits of taking refuge in Triratna and the five precepts for the Buddhists as well as Buddhism sympathizers. At the end of the talk, Venerable shared about offering and giving out so that the mass could have an overview of the issue. From that point of view, Buddhists can practice properly to achieve ultimate merits on the Path, happiness and ease in present and future and the blessings from Buddhas in ten directions on the occasion of Vesak.
Later, in the solemn and respectful environment, on behalf of the ashram, Buddhist Phuong Ly offered the gratefulness to the clergy delegation for its kindness coming to Korea celebrating Vesak for the mass. The speech expressed the diligent spirit of practicing and the feelings of the overseas Vietnamese.
Finally, participants received Dharma gifts and took photographs with the monks.
