Welcoming the Dog Year on New Year’s Eve at Tay Khanh Pagoda – Thai Binh Province

Welcoming the Dog Year on New Year’s Eve at Tay Khanh Pagoda – Thai Binh Province

 

In the harmony with the atmosphere of welcoming new year,  millions of people in Vietnam in general and monks of Tay Khanh Pagoda (Cao Mai village, Quang Hung Commune, Kien Xuong District, Thai Binh Province a small pagoda in a countryside ) in particular, led by Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kinh, decorated the pagoda to welcome the Dog Year Spring.  

At the moment of New Year’s Eve, Buddhists recited the Buddha’s name to welcome monks’ arrival to the hall to carry out the New Year’s Eve ceremony and welcome the new year. Next, All the Buddhists directed their minds sincerely toward the Triratna, and honestly prayed for their family’s peace and good things. After the ceremony, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kinh gave the wishes and short preach to the attendees He advised Buddhists should patiently cultivate Buddha Dharma, go to pagoda regularly,  worship the Buddha and listen to the monks’ preaching. Moreover, in the family, everyone should take on their responsibility, get along with and mutually respect each other. On occasion of new year, Junior Ven. And monks prayed that the Triratna would bless them with peace, health,  and wisdom to cultivate diligentlywhich will certainly lead to  success. He also made lines of verse for everybody:

Sow the good seeds of reciting Amitabuddha

And reap a good harvest of peace and joy. 

Then, Buddhists in turn received lucky envelops, the presents of the Dog Year Spring, and VCDs  “Living happily with religion from Junior Ven. And Monks.
