Witnessing the Wedding Ceremony at Pagoda

On 16th, 17th April 2016 (10th,11th Lunar March. Monkey year), Hoang Phap pagoda organized Hang Thuan (a wedding ceremony) for couples: Tran Van Nam (religious name Tinh Nam) and Le Thi Ha (religious name Lien Ha), Lang Van Viet (religious name Tinh Viet) and Le Thi Thanh Mai (religious name Dieu Tinh), Kevin Bubnis and Bui Thi Thanh Tra (religious name Ngoc Thu).

 Hang Thuan ceremony is a special traditional culture; moreover, it improves intelligent and ethical spirit foundation effectively. It also orientates human beings a helpful life for family and society whereby contributing their effort to the country positively. The ceremony is a skillful combination of traditional culture, nationalethic and Buddhist spiritual culture; it is particular cultural beauty in married-family field to Buddhists.

 To a Buddhist, it is a holy happiness to be hold a wedding ceremony at pagoda. Within the witness of Triratna and two families, the couples of bridegroom and bride took an oath living their whole life together, keeping the moral rules as Buddha’s teaching.

 After performing the ceremony rites such as burning incense to Buddha, representatives of two families gave a proclamative talk and put on rings to each other.  On behalf of all the monks, Senior Venerable Thich Chan Tinh, abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda, witnessed as well as gave husband-wife ethical teaching to the young couples.

 Harmony in marriage is a key factor to keep family happiness. Husband and wife living in peace will build a warm and happy family; parents’ getting on well with their children will maintain family morality and educate young generation easily. In Buddhism, the six points of dharma harmony for monks and nuns on purpose of bringing harmony and peace in a community. If this dharma spirit is applied on family life, unshakeable and long-term happiness will be achieved.
