Retreat Day for Students

On 14th September 2014 ( 21st Lunar August, Horse Year), more than 1,000 students came to Hoang Phap Monastery to participate in a retreat day named “Students leaning to the Buddha’s dharma.

\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

 After breakfast, the students gathered in the Lecture Hall\r\nto listen to the preaching from Junior Ven. Thich Tri Minh, Buddhism DPhil,\r\nlecturer of Buddhist Institute and Buddhist High School/ College in HCMC. He\r\nshared the lecture named: "The Nature of Prayer".

 Prayer is the soul of any religion. By definition, prayer\r\nare the action, the thinking, and the word that each person would like to\r\ncreate a relationship to their metaphysical world to express their dreams and\r\nexpectation of themselves. There are sometimes, those prayers and\r\naccomplishments doesn't meet their expectation. That's because it depends on\r\nindividual merits, and the prayer is also not out of control with the law of\r\ncause and effect. That's why Buddhist people want their prayer would be their\r\nown achievements, they have to direct their heart to help others and create\r\ntheir good karma at the moment.

In the afternoon, Dr. of Psychology Nguyen Ngoc Quynh Dao,\r\nHead of Psychological  Department of Saigon University had a talk in\r\nthe subject named: "Inner Power"). As a human, we have to firmly bear\r\nin mind and create our own programing with positive things in our life.

\r\n\r\n

 Our mind has a tremendous strength that we could not\r\nimagine. Only when we have a  solid interior, a proper awareness so\r\nthat we could attain awareness of  right actions, thoughts and\r\nspeech; especially suitable for easily overcome the difficulties in life to\r\nreach the best future in our life.

\r\n\r\n

At the end of the day, each student was granted a gift\r\nincluding : a DVD “ The 5th Sunflower Program -  The Sacred\r\nVoice”, a DVD “Mommy, Don't give me up!”; a VCD “Turning Back The Head”, “\r\nDharmadhatu (Arising from conditional causation) and a Real Life”, a book\r\n“Sinless Fetuses”. In addition, the students also received the notice on the\r\nScholarship Program ‘The 3rd Wisdom Seeding.
