Wedding Ceremony at Dong Cao pagoda in early 2026
Update: 09/01/2026
On the days toward to commemorate Amitabha Buddha’s birthday, Dong Cao Pagoda solemnly organized a wedding ceremony for the couple groom Hoang Van Thanh (Dharma name Tri Tinh Thanh) and bride Ngo Thi Linh (DN Lien Linh) on Jan. 01st, 2026 (Nov. 13th, Year of the Snake).
The wedding ceremony at the pagoda is an opportunity for the groom and the bride to listen to the monks conveying Buddha's teachings on the way of being a wife, a husband, a bride, a groom and a parent in the future. This organizing at the temple is to create conditions for the couple to rely on the support of the Sangha, Three Jewels.
The Wedding was witnessed by present monks, Junior Thich Tam Hung, Abbot of Dong Cao pagoda, Thanh Hoa province, Junior Thích Phước Hòa - Abbot of Giác Thế pagoda; Junior Thích Giác Thọ - monks of Giác Thế Pagoda - Hue City; Junior Thích Tâm Trọng - Abbot of Nhất Pháp Pagoda - Đồng Nai Province; Junior Thích Tâm Điều - Abbot of Bảo An Pagoda - Hai Phong City.
After the traditional rites, such as prostrating the Three Jewels and parents, and giving wedding rings to each other, Junior Thich Tam Hung guided both families and Buddhists in a creature liberation rite, helping each person cultivate compassion and respect for all living beings, making this virtuous act even more meaningful for the ceremony.
Not only based on the foundation of love or material things, the happiness of a Buddhist family needs to be cultivated with love, understanding and morality. To live happily, the Buddha taught that we need to practice the six harmonies. That is to live in harmony with each other in every action, together creating a warm and close space; The words between husband and wife must be nurtured with gentleness, avoiding hurting each other by anger or competition; The mind must agree, share and respect each other. If there are differences in opinion, we need to listen to each other, discuss and explain in a spirit of seeking knowledge. Both need to maintain a moral lifestyle, support each other in cultivating body and mind, and cultivate good karma; in everything, from housework to taking care of children, always share fairly and unanimously.
No matter how many ups and downs a family goes through, if a family maintains the above principles in marriage, the family will still be a peaceful place, a place to nurture true and lasting love.
