“Being monks or nuns for a long time, your ego becomes bigger, you go further from the Buddha’s teaching and nearer Mara’s net”.
On the way to liberation gaining, practitioners always struggle to be free from all the bondage of birth and death circle, however, we almost have no observable attainment in practice. This caused by our ego or the wrong understanding of “I” and lead to a series of suffering, depression, sorrow, affliction for self and others. He emphasized the first step in taking practice is the right view of oneself. To see this we should go back inside to recognize how our five aggregates work, how we grasp them as “I”, have a clear-seeing about their sweet-taste, their danger, and the way to get out of them for the happiness in current and later. He then pointed out the way to convince them is having wise attention in act, speech and thought every day, having deep repentance on our ego, practice to see all phenomena in the empty form, non-ego.
Finish the talk he advises all people to try one best to achieve in their practice and have peace, tranquility in the Buddha’s teaching. When one’s ego arises, go back and think of “we are the son and daughter of the Buddha”.
