A Ceremony Lighting Flower Lanterns to Celebrate Birthday Of Amitabha Buddha at Phuoc Thien Pagoda, Ho Chi Minh City

On the 5th, Dec. 2019 (on 10th Nov. Year of pigs), accepting the invitation of Abbess Thich Nu Chuc Hai, abbot of Phuoc Thien pagoda, Binh Chanh village, BinhChanh district, Ho Chi Minh city, monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap pagoda came and supported for the organization of a ceremony lighting flower lanterns to celebrate birthday of Amitabha Buddha.
Presenting at the ceremony, there were Ven. Thich Hue Minh, Standing Deputy Head of managing committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Binh Chanh District, Abbot of Thien Tri Pagoda; Junior Venerable Thich An Trung, Permanent Deputy Head of managing committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Binh Chanh district, Abbot of Phap Chon Pagoda; Junior Ven. Thich Thien Y, the leading Samantha Buddhist recitation course of Phuoc Thien pagoda, Abbot of Phap Quang pagoda together with monks, nuns, and all Buddhists.
After announcing the reason and introducing the participants, abbess Thich Nu Chuc Hiep, Secretary of Phuoc Thien Pagoda, had the opening speech. After that, with all sincere devotion, all of participants unanimously turned towards the solemn statue of Amitabha Buddha to offer incense and pay homage to The Triratna. The program continued with the transmission ceremony. This is the most important part of the ceremony. The candle of wisdom and compassion was lit up by the Venerables from the Buddha's altar and gradually transmitted to the Buddhists. This is the symbol of the continual transmission of light, wisdom, of love, faith and hope.
At the ceremony, Venerable Thich Thien Y read the history of Amitabha Buddha. The sound of singing verses together with the prayers to the Buddha and of the 48 Great Vows making the ceremony more solemn and formal.
At the end of the ceremony, the mass listened to the preaching of Venerable Thich Thien Minh.
The night was ended in the happiness of all the participants.
