Abbot Appointment Ceremony and beginning the Construction of Tu Phap Pagoda – Nghe An

The ceremony was witnessed by Most Thich Thanh Nhieu, Vice Chairman of the Standing Board of VBS, Head of DB of VBS of the province; monks in the Standing Board of Provincial DB; Monk-nun Abbot of monasteries inside and outside the province; representative of Religious Affair Board - Department of Home Affairs, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Government leaders, departments of Dien Chau district, and crowded Buddhists attended.
In his opening speech, Junior Thich Tam Thanh, Chief Secretary of DB of VBS in Nghe An province, outlined the formation and development process of Bon Pagoda. Accordingly, Bon Temple is an ancient temple dating over hundred years and was once a scenic spot in Dien Chau. Passing time and the ravages of two wars, the temple has been degraded; up to now it is only the mound of the old temple foundation.
Currently, Bon Pagoda has been approved by the competent authorities to build projects: main hall, lecture hall, monk's house, dining room ... to create conditions for the study of monks and Buddhists, meeting the needs of believers, people's beliefs.
At the ceremony, Junior Thich Minh Hai - Chief of the Secretariat of VBS, Nghe An province announced the decision of DB of VBS of Nghe An province to appoint Junior Thich Tam Due to hold the position of Abbot of Bon Pagoda.
Receiving the decision to appoint an Abbot, Junior Thich Tam Due vowed to practice and fulfill his responsibility as an Abbot under the leadership of the Sangha; live and work according to the Constitution - Laws of the Nation in accordance with the motto: Buddha Dharma - Nationalism - Socialism".
Representing Hoang Phap pagoda monks, Junior Thich Tam Quan congratulated and hoped the new Abbot would conscientiously apply his wisdom and merit in studying combined with his own knowledge to continue, inherit and develop the Buddhist career that the Patriarchs and monks have entrusted.
Most Thich Thanh Nhieu gave teachings and encouraged the new Abbot to strictly maintain the precepts of monastics, build a prosperous pagoda and guide local Buddhists to practice diligently in accordance with the Dharma.
At the end of the program, the monks and nuns held a spiritual ceremony and broke ground to build Bon Pagoda’s main hall.
