Abbot Appointment Ceremony of An Son Pagoda in Quang Ngai

The ceremony is demonstrated by the presence Most Thich Thien Tam, Vice Chairman of Directing Council/ DC of Buddhist Viet Nam Sangha/ VBS; Most Thich Tri Thang, member of DC, Demonstrating of Director Board/ DB of VBS in Quang Ngai province; Most Thich Hue Dat, member of DC, Demonstrating of Buddhist Director Board/ BDB in Quang Ngai province; Most Thich Thong Hoi – Head of DB of VBS in Quang Ngai province; Senior Thich Thong Huy, member of DC, Standing Board Head of DB of VBS, Quang Ngai Province; Most Thich Minh Hai – Demonstrating of BDB of Duc Pho town; together with venerables of the Sangha in the province.
The Sangha in the Organizers included Senior Thich Tam Lac, Head of the DB, Head of the Legal Department of VBS in Quang Ngai province, Head of the DB of VBS in Duc Pho town, Head of Organizers; Senior Thich Nguyen Binh – Standing Head of DB of VBS Duc Pho town, Deputy Organizers; Senior Thich Tam Buu – Head of DB of VBS of Duc Pho town, Deputy Organizers; Junior Thich Nguyen Phuoc – Head of DB of VBS of Duc Pho town, Deputy Organizers; Junior Thich Quang Dung, Chief Secretary of DB of Duc Pho town, Deputy Organizers; with members of BDB in Duc Pho town; monks and nuns abbot of monasteries inside and outside the province and a large number of people, Buddhists everywhere.
On the side of government leaders, there were Mr. Bui Duc Tho, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee/ VFFC of Quang Ngai province; Mr. Tran Van Quyet, Representative of Propaganda Department of Quang Ngai Province; Mr. Nguyen Thai Hiep, Deputy Director of the Department of Home Affairs, Head of Provincial Religious Affairs; Mr. Vo Van Sau, Member of Standing Board, Head of Mass Mobilization Board, Chairman of VFFC of Duc Pho town; Mr. Vo Thanh Hung, Vice Chairman of Town People's Committee; Mr. Dao Quang Minh – Chief of Town Police; Mr. Tran Cong Su, Deputy Standing Secretary of Pho Thuan Commune; Mr. Nguyen Van Duc, Vice Chairman of Commune People's Committee along with representatives of local departments and agencies in attendance.
Speaking at the Appointment ceremony, Senior Thich Tam Lac – Head of DB of VBS in Quang Ngai province, and Duc Pho town, Head of the Organizers gave a brief overview of formation and development history of An Son temple. Next, Junior Thich Dong Triet, Deputy Secretary and Chief of DB of VBS in Quang Ngai province announced the decision to appoint Junior Thich Tam Khuyen as Abbot of An Son pagoda (Quang Ngai province). Senior Thich Thong Huy, Member of DC, Head of Standing DB of VBS in Quang Ngai province handed over the decision to appoint the abbot to Junior Thich Tam Khuyen.
Standing in front of prove venerables, Junior Thich Tam Khuyen made a vow to accept the assigned task, vowing to take the ideal of ordination to serve the Dharma and the nation; always comply with the Sangha Regulations, the Charter of VBS and the State's legal policies; vow to strive to cultivate body and mind in order to guide Buddhists practice according to the Dharma.
On behalf of Hoang Phap pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Thanh, Abbot of Co Am Pagoda in Nghe An, and representatives of levels of government Mr. Vo Thanh Hung - Vice Chairman of Duc Pho Town People's Committee and Buddhist representatives of An Son pagoda also had the congratulation speech to the new Abbot.
Giving teachings, Most Thich Thong Hoi – Head of the DB of VBS in Quang Ngai province had some words of encouragement to Junior Thich Tam Khuyen. The Most also deeply thanked all levels of government in Duc Pho town for their help and always creating favorable conditions in their work, so that Duc Pho town's Buddhism always achieves good results in all Buddhist affairs.
On behalf of the monks, Junior Thich Tam Truong, as new abbot of Hoang Phap pagoda gave congratulatory gifts to Junior Thich Tam Khuyen, Abbot of An Son Pagoda.
