Abbot Appointment Ceremony of Phuoc Vien Pagoda – Dak Nong

In response to the invitation from Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kien and being instructed by Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh, the Monks at Hoang Phap Pagoda came to Phuoc Vien Pagoda in Dak Nong to witness the Abbot announcement ceremony on Nov. 14th, 2019 (lunar on Oct.18th, Year of Pig).

Obeying the Sangha teachings and meeting enough conditions, Junior Ven. Thich Tam Kien was asked by the residents to guide cultivation at Phuoc Vien Pagoda. With the lofty wish of ordination, Junior Ven did not hesitate arduous difficulties to guide all classes of people. Therefore, Ven always receives the respect and belief of all people. With the approval of the Sangha and authorities at all levels, Junior Ven was officially appointed abbot of Phuoc Vien Pagoda. In the joy, Senior Ven chief of the Director Board of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Dak Nong Province awarded the decision of appointment to the new abbot.

At the ceremony,  on behalf of Senior Ven, Junior Ven Thich Tam An had some words of encouragement to the new abbot about the duty of "A Dharma Director, the Tathagata canon keeper". Following that, the Junior Ven. had a short dharma talk to the mass. He praised the spirit of sacrifice for religion of the new abbot, hoping Junior Ven will try harder to bring the Dharma light to everyone and not betray the wishes of the Master and the Sangha have created favorable conditions for the Junior Ven. to practice the Buddhist affairs.

The ceremony ended in the joy of everyone.
