Amitabha Day with floral candle light ceremony at Phap Hien Pagoda

Exactly at 18:30, Dec 09, 2016, at Phap Hien pagoda,\r\nthe Amitabha Day Ceremony officially began with Prajna drumming ritual to\r\nwelcome the clergy guests of honor. The program started with the opening speech\r\nfrom abbot Thich Vien Chieu, head of the organizers. After that, with sincere\r\nheart, the ashram kneed down for the Triratna incense offering. Then, in the expectation\r\nof the mass, the main and most important part of the ceremony, the sharing\r\nlight ritual, carried out. Candle light, a symbol of compassion and wisdom,\r\nspread from Buddha altar, via the Most Venerables and honor clergy guests, to\r\nthe mass to light up the darkness. Light spread from people to people, candle\r\nto candle, as the symbol of shining wisdom pushing back the darkness in the\r\nworld. It is the message that Buddha’s teachings are continuously preaching to\r\nthe world to drive away the delusion, ignorance, and sufferings and replace\r\nthem with the light of Dharma and happiness.
\r\n\r\nSubsequently, the participants listened to the 48\r\ngreat vows of Amita Buddha by monk Thich Tam Luyen to understand more about his great compassion to\r\nsentient beings.

The ceremony closed with the lecture from the witness\r\nMost Venerable. Via that, the mass could understand more about the life,\r\nmission and vision and 48 great vows of Amita Buddha. His lecturing has\r\nencouraged the inspiration and diligence of the mass in daily practicing.
