“Applied Dharma Propagation” Class - Dharma Talk: “Saving All Living Beings” by Junior Thich Tam Thuc
Update: 03/05/2025
Day 4 of the Practice Series: “Purity and Harmony” May 3rd, 2025: In the morning, the Dharma Hall was once again solemnly prepared, and the assembly of devoted Buddhists gathered to receive teachings from Venerable Thich Tam Thuc. The topic of the day was “Saving All Living Beings.”
During the Dharma talk, the Venerable shared stories from Angulimala 's life, drawing profound lessons for the audience. The life of Angulimala is not only a testament to the miraculous transformation of a misguided individual, but it also profoundly reflects the spirit of compassion and salvation for all beings in Buddhism. His story is not unique; many others, despite their past wrongdoings, were embraced and guided by the Buddha back to the path of righteousness. This illustrates that Buddhism, with its infinite compassion, does not forsake anyone—even those who have committed grave sins. Such compassion paves the way for liberation, provided one harbor’s remorse, aspires for goodness, and diligently practices. Crucially, Angulimala's narrative underscores the indispensable role of a wise and compassionate teacher—one who can illuminate the path to truth and guide individuals toward transformation. Therefore, those who study Buddhism should embrace the compassionate vows of the Buddhas: to never look down on anyone, to remain humble, to diligently learn and practice, and to cherish the wise teachers who illuminate the path of practice and the liberation of all beings.
In the afternoon, the mass continued their practice and deepened their understanding of the teachings under the guidance of the Monks.
