Appointment of the 2nd Deputy Abbot

On Feb 12, 2017 (Jan 16, lunar calendar), the 2nd Deputy Abbot was appointed during the weekly meeting of Hoang Phap sangha.

In coming time, Senior Venerable Abbot Thich Chan Tinh will spend his time on a mid-term retreat without any involvement in daily matters of the pagoda, laying all the relevant issues for the Sangha to handle. Hence, the clergymen decided to nominate the 2^nd deputy abbot to, together with the incumbent Deputy Abbot Thich Tam Dao, shoulder the internal and external works and issues.

With the high level of trust from the group, Reverend Thich Tam Trong has officially been assigned the role of the 2^nd Deputy Abbot. Based on the assignment from the sangha and the belief of the mass, the new Deputy Abbot would like to have the consensus from the assemblies to make progress in the practice of the community. He hoped that his practicing experience in more than 10 years could help others release difficulties in practicing, promote the diligent cultivation, virtue and solemnity among brethrens for the common ease and happiness. Additionally, the Reverend vowed to try his best to serve Triratna, develop Buddhism affairs and other activities to benefit the mass and sentient beings.

During the retreat of the Senior Venerable Abbot, all the Buddhism affairs and other activities will be carried out in the spirit of harmonization and solidarity of the mass, under the management of the two deputy abbots.
