Buddha Bathing Ceremony at Hoa Phuc Pagoda in the period of COVID-19.

Locating in Hoa Thach Commune, Quoc Oai District, Hanoi City, Hoa Phuc Pagoda held the Great Ceremony of Buddha's Birthday in 2020, Buddhist Calendar 2564 in the first day of April 30th, 2020 (lunar April 8th, Year of Mouse) with the message "Silence but profoundness."
The resounding bell and drum seems passing over mountains and rivers through out all directions, awakening guys who are fast asleep to be present, to celebrate the birthday of the Sakyamuni Buddha. He is the embodiment of fragrant lotus with compassion, wisdom, radiating all over beings in this world is watered cooly by essence droplets in His teachings. In the sacred moment, the monks and Buddhists of Hoa Phuc pagoda solemnly lighted up the incense offering to the Buddha. The mass chanted Sutras and performed the Buddha Bathing ritual, praying the Triple Gem for peace and happiness to all beings, soon to repel and prevent the Covid 19 epidemic.
This year of Vesak Great Ceremony will take place in a special situation. Under guiding of the Organizers, Buddhists attending the Buddha Bathing Ceremony carried out to keep a safe distance, disinfect hand, wear masks and limit talk together. In the cool weather in early summer, the Buddhists clasped their hands, gradually walked to step by step, paying attention to water the bath droplets on the new-born baby statue in the action of silence but profoundness.
Before leaving, the mass was received a gift and a book named "Sowing seeds of compassion". This is a book of poems composed by the abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda. The ceremony will be continued on May 3rd, 2020 (April 11th, Year of Rat) and May 7th, 2020 (April 15, Year of Rat). All Buddha's disciples should return together to attend this significant ceremony.
