Buddha's Birthday Celebration at Lingyin Temple – Taiwan

On the welcome of Vesak 2024, Linh An Temple, Taiwan solemnly held the Buddha Birthday Great Ceremony, Buddha Bathing, taking refuge in Three Jewels, Linh An temple Founder’s Death anniversary and alms offering to the monks.

The ceremony was witnessed and attended by a lot of monks and nuns studying in Taiwan, Buddhists working, studying and living in Taiwan returned to the temple to attend.

Gathering at the main hall, Buddhists chanted sutras, lit candles to commemorate the Linh An Pagoda's Founder Death, Late the Most had donated to establish Linh An pagoda (spending money to buy land to build the pagoda). He and his family (his eldest son when he was still a layperson) volunteered to offer the pagoda to Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha.

Buddhists prepared many Vietnamese vegetarian dishes to offer to the monks and the mass to enjoy the buffet after the prayer rite.

Buddha's Birthday is officially celebrated in the afternoon. After welcoming the Sangha to witness, the mass sang the song "Vietnamese Buddhism" together. Next, the mass listened to "The Buddha's Birthday Message of Dharma Lord of Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha (VBS)"; "The Opening Speech of the Buddha Birth of Most President of the Director Board of VBS"…sutras praising the merits of Buddha's birthday.

The great ceremony is closed in the joy of Buddhists far from home when they have warm moments together, enjoying the joy when returning to the temple, returning to their beloved spiritual home.

Finally, everyone received a small souvenir from the monks and took a group photo.

On the same evening, Buddhists together distributed nearly 200 gifts to give to homeless people, all gifts included: milk cakes, food and envelopes of 100元 (80,000 VND).
