Buddhism wedding ceremony

On May 07, 2017 (April 12, lunar calendar), Hoang Phap Pagoda held the Buddhism Wedding Ceremony for the couple: groom Doan Hoang Ghi (religious name: Tinh Pho) and bride Nguyen Ngo Minh Thao (religious name: Hoa Tam)
The ceremony was carried out in the spirit of traditional culture and solemn atmosphere with the witness of clergy representatives of Hoang Phap Sangha.
After Buddhism wedding rites as offering incense to Triratna, appealing from the couple’s families… in the important and sacred moment, under the witness of Triratna and families, the just-married couple vowed to preserve the five precepts for Buddhists, be the true Buddhist, be faithful to marriage life, respect, understand and share things with his/her spouse, together with his/her spouse build a happy Buddhism family in the whole life and perform the five duties as per Buddha’s teaching in Sigalovada Sutra as following:
Husband:
1. Take care of his wife with kindness and nice words when she leaves/ comes back home.
2. Be easy in appetite and daily meals to release his wife from cuisine burden.
3. Generously afford his wife with costume, jewelry, and proper consumption within his mean.
4. Be faithful to marriage life, shy away from adultery.
5. Entrust his wife with housework and relevant decisions.
Wife:
1. Love and respect her husband with kindness and courtesy in harmonious environment.
2. Be faithful and take care of the household when the husband is absent from home.
3. Defend her virtue as a wife and shy away from adultery.
4. Share things and delicious foods with her husband, keep calm during husband’s anger and gently discuss things with him at the right time afterward. Listen and obey the right advices from her husband.
5. Preserve and take care of properties in the family. Take care of her household.
On behalf of clergy witnesses, Reverend Thich Tam Hue gave the couple advices on marital duties, pregnant education, children breeding, how to build up a Buddhism home-sweet-home, and how to deal with parents… Moreover, he advised that the couple should frequently learn Dharma to promote their family life to the Truth-Goodness-Beauty.
At the end of the ceremony, the Reverend sent Buddhism marriage certificate and wedding gift to the just-married couple.
