Buddhism Wedding Ceremony is a traditional culture of the nation. Furthermore, this rite helps promote moral values, drive people to happy marriage and live helpfully in the community. The ceremony is a union of traditional culture, national ethics and Buddhism culture. This is a unique marital cultural beauty to Buddhists.
For Buddhists, celebrating Buddhism wedding ceremony is a divine happiness. With the witness of Triratna and families, the young couple together takes the oath living a loyal marriage life and following up Buddha's teachings.
After wedding rituals as offering incense to Buddha, appealing from the couple’s families and ring exchange, the bride and groom vow to live the marriage life following up Buddhism Five Precepts, promoting a sound and moral life based on Buddha teachings in Sigalovada Sutra. Subsequently, Venerable Thich Tam Hue, on behalf of clergy witness committee, delivers the Dharma talk and advices to the just-married couple.
The key to have a happy marriage is harmony that can help making a home-sweet home, in which wife/husband is in harmony with spouse, parents in harmony with children. Harmony can help maintain the morality of the family and breed offspring better and easier. In Buddhism, Buddha taught his disciples the KÃ ya SÃ maggi (six good terms for harmony) for the sake of the harmony in the sangha/community. Applying the spirit of KÃ ya SÃ maggi into marriage can help making a sustained happy family.
