Buddhism Wedding Ceremony

With the witness from Triratna, families and relatives, the young couple performs traditional marital rites such as paying homage to Triratna, parents, hands over wedding rings and takes the marriage oath, in which they vow to live the whole life together following Buddha’s teachings in Sigalovada Sutra.

Venerable Thich Tam Chieu, on behalf of Hoang Phap sangha, sends blessings to the just-married couple. He also reminds the bride and groom practicing the spirit of Kàya sàmaggi (six good terms for harmony) from Buddha’s teaching into the family. Buddhists should preserve the five precepts for lay Buddhists and apply Buddha's teachings in life for the peaceful and happy marriage. After that, the Venerable sends Buddhism marital certificate and wedding gift to the young couple. The ceremony ends in joy of all.
