Buddhist-Family Group held Ulambana Ceremony

Based on the example of Moggallāna, Buddha’s great disciple, Ulambanais an opportunity for children expressing gratitude and filial piety to parents. Nevertheless, filial piety should be performed not only on Ulambana day but also in everyday in the whole life. According to Buddha’s teaching, our performing of filial duty to parents in kalpas cannot repay parents’ large merits. In accordance with Ulambana spirit, managing board of Hoang Phap Buddhist-Family group held the ceremony for kids showing gratitude to parents via tiny gifts and practical activity as washing feet for parents. Everyone in the conference hall was moved with the event.

Venerable Thich Tam Trong, on behalf of Hoang Phap Sangha, witnessed the ceremony and praised the dutiful spirit of the youths. Simultaneously, he encouraged everyone performing the Five Standards of Ethics in life, improving the human dignity towards a true-good-noble life. Closing the ceremony, the mass recited Ulambana sutra, set free captured creatures and released balloon into the sky.
