Candle Lighting Ritual to commemorate the Amitabha Buddha at Suoi Phap Pagoda, Tay Ninh

The crowded of good men and believing women returned to Suoi Phap pagoda in Tay Ninh (belonging to Hoang Phap pagoda ’s sect)to attend the Candle Lighting Ritual to commemorate the Amitabha Buddha  in the evening of Jan. 03rd, 2026 (Nov. 15th, LC).

  At 7:00 PM, in the serene and peaceful presence of the monks and the mass, all participants wholeheartedly turned their attention to the Amitabha Buddha majestic statue. The smoke of sandalwood carried a mystical warmth, comforting the hearts of the followers with all their sincerity offered to the noble Three Jewels.

 

After offering incense to the Buddha and reciting the Pure Land Sutra, the Junior Abbot preached about the previous lives of Amitabha Buddha to save sentient beings to the mass.

 

After the dharma talk, it is a ritual of candle light transferring.  Among the lights symbolizing compassion and wisdom, the Abbot lit candles from the Buddha altar, and transferred its light to all the attendees. That light shone the path of the beings floating in this world of five-defilements. Now, having grasped the method of practicing the Buddha's name as the most supreme means, each person should return to our own bright, pure, and tranquil original mind.

 

The candle lighting night to celebrate Amitabha Buddha’s birthday closed with miraculous, sparkling candle lights in the joy of the mass.
