Ceremony for Peace at the Dong Cao Pagoda - Thanh Hoa.

In the convivial atmosphere on the occasion of the ceremony, on Feb. 03rd, 2017 (the seventh day of Tet festival) the observance for peace at the beginning of the Lunar New Year organized at the Dong Cao pagoda, located at Nga Yen commune, Nga Son district, Thanh Hoa province. Opening the ceremony, Junior venerable Thich Tam Hung, on behalf of the organizing board, gave new year wishes to all Buddhists present at the ceremony. Then, Junior venerable Thich Tam Trong, a monk at Hoang Phap pagoda in Ho Chi MInh City, on the invitation of the organizers had participated in the observance and gave the Buddhists a sermon titled "The year of Rooster". By telling familiar fables, the Junior venerable helped Buddhists to perceive the problem of wishing for peace and cultivation of people who learn Buddhism.
After the sermon ended, together the masses came into recitation of Buddist sutra for peace and then animal release under Junior venerable Thich Tam Hung's guidance.
In the afternoon of the same day, receiving the invitation from organizers, Junior venerable Thich Tam Man, abbot of Tan Tay Thien Phap pagoda, located at Quang Nam province returned to Dong Cao pagoda to visit and gave New Year Wishes to Buddhists. Here he gave them a sermon on the topic "Wishing for peace should be based on the True Dharma". After more than an hour, the Junior venerable helped the Buddhists to reallize that if each of them wants to get peace he must transform his body and mind. He also strongly advised that Buddhists apply the Buddha's teachings in their daily life.
At the end of the observance, organizers made food offering to the souls of all beings.
Finally , organizers offered Buddhists free VCDs "Stories about propagating the Buddha Dharma in the USA" lectured by Senior venerable Thich Chan Tinh and the books "Evil Mind And The Right paths" written by Junior venerable Thich Tam Man.
