Ceremony of Praying Peace in Lunar New Year, and Thanking to the Altar of Medical Buddha at Giai Lam Pagoda, Ha Tinh

On Feb. 25th, 2024 (Jan. 16th, LC), Giai Lam Pagoda, Ha Tinh solemnly celebrated the Great Ceremony of Praying for Peace at the lunar New Year, and Thanking to the Medical Buddha Altar.

At 8:00 a.m., the Sangha came to the main hall to witness the great ceremony.

On behalf of the ashram, Buddhist Tinh Minh offered longevity wishes to the Most Master and the monks at present.

Next, Junior Thich Tam Luc, Abbot of the pagoda had a Dharma talk to the mass. The monk preached about the meaning of the full moon day of the first lunar month according to Buddhism, the Three-Jewel formation, and the temple’s value from the time Buddha was still alive to today.

After that, good men and believing women vow to take Three Refuges and Five Precepts in the great ceremony; The monks transmitted Three Refuges and Five Precepts to the disciples.

Last is to offer incense to the Buddha, chant sutras for peace, and offer thanks to the Medicine Buddha altar. The mass respectfully chanted, praying for a peaceful new year; everyone would know how to return and refuge in the Three Jewels, comply with the Buddha's teachings to have peace and happiness, a safe country, gladly and prosperous people.
