Ceremony of seating Buddha Statue and giving charity gifts of Hoa Phuc Pagoda, Ha Noi

From Dec. 17th-18th, 2022, Hoa Phuc Pagoda, Quoc Oai, Hanoi (belonging to Hoang Phap Pagoda) held a welcome ceremony and putting the Buddha statue at Trung Pagoda along with the program "Giving gifts of love" to the disadvantaged families in the district at Quynh Nhai Cam Lo cultural and spiritual area.

On the morning of Nov. 24th, the mass gathered together at Hoa Phuc Pagoda first. At 10:00 a.m., the venerable Sangha held a statue putting ceremony at Trung Pagoda and dropped lanterns on the Da River towards the enlightenment day of Buddha Shakyamuni. In the early afternoon, monks and the mass read and chant the Ratana - Mahamangala Sutra.

Responding to the call of the Central of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha; on the morning of Dec. 18th, 2022, Hoa Phuc Pagoda (Quoc Oai, Hanoi) coordinated with Quynh Nhai Cam Lo spiritual cultural area to present 100 gifts of Tet for difficult minority families in Quynh Nhai District, Son La province.

The gift giving ceremony was witnessed by Junior Thich Tam Hoa, Abbot of Hoa Phuc Pagoda (Head of Delegation) and monks under the tradition of Hoang Phap Pagoda, (HCMC) Chuc Thanh Pagoda (Quang Nam Province). On the local side, there were representatives of leaders, officials at all levels and ethnic minorities in Muong Giang, Muong Gion, Muong Chien, Chieng Khay.... were present at Ha pagoda, Quynh Nhai Cam Lo spiritual area.

At 8:30 a.m., monks and Buddhists, together with leaders of the government and people, offered incense and chanted the Ratana and Mahamangala Sutras to pray for national peace and prosperity. After that, the monks performed a ceremony to offer Three Jewels and give gifts to families in need.

The monks gave 100 gifts worth 150,000,000 VND. In which, each portion costs 1,500,000 VND, including: cash (200,000 VND), warm blankets, clothes and instant noodles.

On behalf of Ven. monks during the ceremony, Junior Thich Tam Hoa and Junior Thich Tam Luan shared and encouraged the local residents. He also thanked Buddhists and Donors for their support and companionship in this charity program. This is a meaningful activity, showing the interest of monks and Buddhists with the spirit of "Giving is forever" in order to share difficulties with ethnic minority families, contributing to local authorities to build Quynh Nhai ‘s rich and beautiful civilization.

On behalf of the government and people of Quynh Nhai district, Mr. Lo Thanh Thuy - Vice Chairman of Quynh Nhai district expressed his deep gratitude for the precious affection and support of monks and Buddhists at Hoa Phuc pagoda and Quynh Nhai Cam Lo pagoda has spent a lot of time, effort and enthusiasm to give meaningful gifts to people in the district on the occasion of upcoming New Year 2023.
