Ceremony to start work to sculpt the statue Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara offering to Dang Phap Pagoda, Binh Phuoc

On June 04th, 2024, Junior Thich Tam Hue, monks, Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda and Dang Phap Pagoda held a beginning rite of carving the statue Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara at Non Nuoc (Hanh) fine art stone sculpture facility, Da Nang.

The rite was witnessed of Junior Thich Tam Hue as Head of the pagoda Ritual Board, Junior Thich Tam Quang  - Abbot of Dang Phap pagoda in Binh Phuoc; Buddhists and statue sculpting artists Nguyen Huu Lai and Pham Ngoc Thuan.

In a solemn atmosphere, offering incense to the Buddha, Junior Thich Tam Hue and monks chanted the Great Compassion Mantra, Prajnaparamita Sutra, and chanted the Buddha's name, praying for the statue's early completion ...

 It is known the statue will be carved about 6 high meters, 18 tons, made of monolithic turquoise white stone type 1 by statue sculpting artists Nguyen Huu Lai and Pham Ngoc Thuan

The estimated time of completion will be on Oct. 04th, 2024 with a total budget of 550 million VND. The statue offered by a Buddhist to Dang Phap Pagoda in Binh Phuoc, is managed by Junior Thich Tam Quang.

 During the ceremony, Junior Thich Tam Hue donated the amount of 300,000,000 VND in the total cost.

This occasion, the monks gave some dharma gifts to Buddhists and local residents, including some books: Lessons of causes and effects, Life of Shakiamuny Buddha composed by Most Thich Chan Tinh….
