Charity Board: Supporting cancer patients to attend One-Day Practice

On Jan. 05th, 2025 Charity Board and Oncology Club at Hoang Phap pagoda assisted 100 patients of Cancer Hospital and Blind people gathering at the pagoda to attend One-Day Practice.

After having breakfast, Buddhists came to the lecture hall of area C to begin reciting the Buddha's name, walking meditation and chanting Buddhists basic precepts.  Next, all patients listened to a Dharma talk named "The Buddha recitation" preached by Most Thich Tam Duc, Standing Deputy Director of Vietnam Buddhist Study Institute; Deputy President of HCMC Vietnam Buddhist University, Head of the Department of Buddhist English, Lecturer of HCMC 's Vietnam Buddhist University.

 

  Finishing reciting the Buddha name in the afternoon, Buddhists practiced sitting meditation quietly.

 

 Before all attendees leaving the temple, Junior Thich Tam Hue gave gift portions including envelopes and milk to 100 patients and the blind. The amount 14,000,000 given by the Donors, such as 5,000,000 VND of Lien Nghia group; 4,000,000 VND of a Buddhist group; 2,000,000 VND of a Buddhist; 3,000,000 VND of Tuyet Ngoc rice and her friends. 

 

    The monk praised the patients' difficult overcoming spirit, although the body was sick but the mind was not. He advised them to take refuge in Three Jewels, diligently recite Buddha's name, study and practice Buddha's teachings, then will have a peaceful and happy life.

 

 The day of cultivation ended in the joy of participants.
