Charity on Shakyamuni Buddha commemoration entering Nirvana, and prostrating five hundred names at Dong Cao Pagoda

After days of practicing towards the good Father of four species, Dong Cao pagoda in Nga Yen, Nga Son, Thanh Hoa (belonging to the of Hoang Phap pagoda’s sect) celebrated the anniversary when Shakyamuni Buddha entered Nirvana to pay respects, remind the mass to practice diligently, and sow conditions to all beings with the Dharma in the morning of March 6th, 2023 (Feb. 15, LC).

After the chanting Ksitigarbha sutra, Junior Thich Tam Hung instructed Buddhists going to Nga Son district market to buy aquatic species that are being sold to free them into nature.

Next, the mass came to Hung Long River to make a prayer ritual before setting them into the current. Then, they returned to the temple to chant the Eightfold Path of sutra, and offered a meal at the temple. Continuing the charity, Buddhists prepared over 300 vegetarian meals to give to patients being treated at Nga Son General Hospital under the guidance of Buddhist Tinh Van.

At 11:00 a.m. the assembly had a meal together in mindfulness at the dining-room. Shakyamuni Budha’s commemoration is an opportunity for each practitioner to look back, and reflect on its practice and service ideals.

On the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Feb. 19, LC), Dong Cao Pagoda organizes a week to bow to the names of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara (Feb. 15-19), Buddhists everywhere should gather to the temple to attend the ritual.

During the ceremony, the monks and Buddhists practice together, making prostrations to the Bodhisattva's names, walking on reciting the Buddha's name, and a meditation sitting to transform three karmas. Practice and memorialize His profound saving grace, great love, great compassion by vowing to listen and save all beings.
