Children's Retreat "Nurturing seeds of morality " at Co Am Pagoda, Nghe An
Update: 18/06/2022
From June 14-17, 2022, Co Am Pagoda (Nghe An province) held a Children's Retreat with the theme of "Nurturing seeds of morality" for children aged 8-12 years old.
On the morning of June 14, 2022, the children returned to the temple to register for the course. The monks in the Organizers have arranged the living space: a place to eat, a place to wash, or to sleep... for the little ones.
On June 15, 2022, Junior Thich Tam Thanh, the Abbot of Co Am Pagoda, the Head of the Organizers had a few words of encouragement to the children. The monk talked about gratitude to grandparents, parents, teachers, heroes and martyrs and sentient beings of all kinds. After that, the monks gave instructions on the necessary demeanors of the Buddha's disciples: How to clasp hands, prostrate, salute, address, ... and conduct the retreat's rules.
After the meditation session in the afternoon, the children chanted short sutras on gratitude, cause and effect. The children participated in outdoor activities and had fun together. In the evening, the children listened and learned about the life of the Buddha and played with their friends in the groups.
On June 16, 2022, the closing date, Junior Thich Tam Thanh had a sharing and messages with the children. The monks in the Organizers gave gifts to the winning team in the contest.
At the end of the retreat, the children learned about gratitude, politeness, collective spirit, community, independence in personal activities, saving electricity and water; these little lessons from the temple will awaken their instincts, as well as sow moral seeds in hearts from the first steps in life.
Before leaving, the monks sent them gifts of Dharma.
