Day 5 of Temporary ordination retreat 2025 for Children in Summer with the theme A hero needs no sword preached Junior Thich Minh Thanh

On June 15th, 2025 is the 5th day of the Temporary ordination retreat for Children in 2025. Little learners welcome the new day with the dance "Parents' Arms" in the morning.

The children gathered in the Dharma halls to participate in the activities after breakfast. 

 

All kids listened to a Dharma talk named “A hero needs no sword”, shared by Junior Thich Minh Thanh, Abbot of Thiên Khanh temple in District 6 at 9:00 a.m.

 

From the touching story of Angulimàla, a man who made many mistakes but returned to the path of goodness thanks to love and compassion. The monk draws valuable lessons for children: Do not listen to bad things, do not be quick to believe in the temptations of others. The image of Angulimàla 's mother shows that motherly love is always forgiving and tolerant. Let’s love our parents. If we make mistakes, we need to change and correct them. A true hero does not need strength or weapons, but is the one who knows how to live with love, knows how to admit mistakes and transform himself.
