Dharma Preaching at Hoang Phap temple in the Vassavāsa 2018 by Ven. Thich Quang Thien

Ven. Thich Quang Thien is the lecturer of the Vietnamese Buddhist University in HCMC and the abbot of Tinh Quang temple located at District 12. In the Talk, he shared and reminded some matters related to the monkhood as “content with few desires” and some sutras related to the Samana qualities and the Brahmacharya. He said the holy life of a monk is not for the sake of deceiving people, not for the sake of inveigling people, not for the sake of the rewards of gain, offerings, & tribute, nor with the thought. The three rewards of gain, offerings, and tribute can destroy a holy life of a monk which prevent them from the sake of direct knowledge and full comprehension. On the other hand, the holy life of a monk is lived for the sake of direct knowledge and full comprehension.
