Update: 07/05/2026
On the fourth day in the 108th Retreat of May 07th, 2026, Senior Thich Tri Hue, Standing Member of VBS’s Central Dharma Propagation Board, Abbot of Phap Tang pagoda, HCMC preached a Dharma talk named Awakening from the Worldly Dream.
The Senior said, "Those who study Buddhist teachings without mindfulness only see the right and wrong of others, but fail to recognize their own right and wrong."
People often forget the impermanent and suffering nature in life because they live in a worldly dream. Therefore, the preacher reminded all listeners to view life with compassion and wisdom to recognize the truth about suffering and impermanence which generate loving-kindness to all encounters, and also live with little desire and knowing satisfaction. Furthermore, he shared practical methods for lay Buddhists. Each practitioner should return to taking refuge in the Three Jewels, remembering the gratitude to the Buddha, and cultivating compassion for all beings every day. To achieve this, mindfulness and awareness are essential foundations. He emphasized the essence of practice is in diligently complying with the precepts and suitable methods to one's nature and character. Accordingly, morality is a good environment for eliminating afflictions, and the Dharma is the way to cut off suffering and sorrow, helping us to distinguish right from wrong, understand the truth of life and then we are awakened amidst the worldly dream.
