Dharma Talk “Is practice right or wrong?” – The 100th Seven-Day Retreat

It is good and encouraging for lay people to have faith in their practice, but there are still many practitioners who practice incorrectly, leading to suffering. To practice is reflection to correct ourselves not to correct others. Therefore, the Most shows out ways to recognize what is correct or wrong practice, so that each person can choose for themselves how to practice following the correct path the World-Honored One taught, gaining real benefits in the present life.
Cultivation is correcting - changing, developing the mind of correcting behaviors of body, speech, mind.
What is correct practice? That is each practitioner must diligently practice the eightfold path: right view, right thought, right speech, right action, right livelihood, right effort, right mindfulness, and right concentration.
In practical life, practitioners should be tolerant, joyful and equanimous, help others, clearly recognize birth, old age, sickness and death, like to live alone, cultivate diligently; have wisdom to understand temporary life, have real happiness not trying to appear happy, recognizing the things’ change and damage ...
The opposite of the above is wrong practice. Right or wrong practice depends essentially on the mind, on nature, not on the form.
The Most reminded listeners to abandon 16 dharma evils in Dhammadàyàda sutta: greed, anger, dudgeon, malevolence, hypocrisy, spite, envy, stinginess, deceit, treachery, obstinacy, impetuosity, arrogance, pride, conceit, indolence.
Thanks to this preaching, all practitioners are reinforced with very important teachings and practices, which are a solid foundation in study and practice on the right path to reach enlightenment and happiness.
The Dharma talk ended with the joy of the attendees.
