Dharma talk Learn to live happily preaching by Nun Thich Nu Nhu Lan in the 106th Seven-day Retreat

On the 4th day in the 106th Retreat of Sep. 16th, 2025, Nun Thich Nu Nhu Lan, Member of the Central Propagation Board, Deputy of the Propagation Board of Dong Thap province, Abbot of Hung Thien pagoda, Dong Thap preached a Dharma talk named Learn to live happily in the Wheel-Dharma Building's Main Hall.

People always wish to achieve happiness and peace in life, but it is not easy to know the method to have true happiness. Pursuing fame, wealth, and material things, many people forget that happiness does not come from the outside but starts from their own mindset on life.

To have happiness, we need to learn how to live with contentment first, not to get caught up in the endless ambitions and desires. In addition, we need to learn how to let go of worries, hurts, and unnecessary things so that the mind can be light and free.

Learning the Buddha's teachings, we gradually understand that everything is impermanent, nothing lasts forever, and no one can hold anything, so letting go at the right time is the way that has led us to peace.

Happiness also grows from unconditional love without discrimination. A person who approaches and practices according to the Buddha's teachings should learn the way of love of the Buddhas: Love ourselves by self-cultivation and love others by deep sympathy and tolerance.

True love is also expressed by doing good, avoiding evil, not causing harm to people and things, living with compassion and responsibility. There is no need to look for peace far away, when practicing the above things, peace is present in every present moment.
