Examining health, giving medicines and gifts to the poor in Dong Tien commune, Binh Phuoc

On Oct. 01st, 2023 (Sep. 17th, LC), Junior Thich Tam Hue, the pagoda Charity-Board Buddhists and the Red Cross’s volunteer physicians in HCMC organized a healthy examination, giving medicines and gifts for 300 poor residents in Dong Tien commune, Binh Phuoc province.
At the medical examination and gift giving session, there were Junior Thich Tam Hue, Buddhists, and Donors.
Representatives of the government were Ms. Tran Hao, Vice Chairman of Dong Tien Commune People's Committee, and representatives of commune departments and organizations.
Elderly people get diseases such as blood pressure, arthritis, gastritis, diabetes, spinal degeneration, eye diseases, cardiovascular diseases, hepatitis, etc.
Doctors have examined and provided medicine, provided health advice, knowledge about disease prevention, personal hygiene, raised awareness of health protection, and encouraged regular examinations to detect diseases early that treat them timely and effectively.
The total of gifts included 3 tons of rice, 300 boxes of vegetarian noodles, 300 bottles of cooking oil, 300 bottles of soy sauce, 300 T-shirts, 300 envelopes being 111 million. The money of medicine was worth 27 million VND; each medicine portion costing 100,000 VND was supported by the Group members. Money-medicine total of 300 gift portions is worth 138 million.
The group also gave dharma gifts including of books, such as "Practice at home", "A brief Introduction of Hoang Phap monastery", "Rethought to become a filial one"…composed by Most Thich Chan Tinh
The monk sincerely thanked the Doctors for bringing joy and happiness to the poor people without fearing tiredness and far distance. At the same time, he also gave dharma gifts including: Buddha necklaces, rosaries, and books: Lessons for Buddhists, Good examples in East and West, A brief Introduction of Hoang Phap monastery to volunteer doctors.
