Flower Lantern Ceremony on Amitabha Buddha"s Birthday at Long Hoa Nunnery – Long An

In the gratitude spirit of the Buddha’s children, on the occasion of the birthday of Amitabha Buddha, on November 8th, 2016 (December 6 of the lunar year), at Nunnery Long Hoa (Long Trach Commune, Can Duoc District, Long An Province) solemnly held the Flower Lantern Ceremony.

Under Venerable Thich Chan Tinh’s instruction, the monks and Buddhists of Hoang Phap Pagoda came to assist the preparation of the celebration.

At 6:00 P.M., two lines of Buddhists respectfully greeted noble Monks and Buddhists who came from lecture hall to witness the ceremony of Buddha Amita's Birthday (Because of bad weather, the ceremony was celebrated in the lecture hall, in stead of organizing at the main rostrum as the expected plan).

In the ceremony, the most important part was the ritual passing of the candle light. The candles were lit, which brightens the endless belief on the Buddha’s dharma in the general and the particular of the Pure Land sect.The light from Buddha’s altar was transferred by honor monks, nuns and then to Buddhists inthe solemn and pure atmosphere. This sacred and colorful space completely erased the dark ignorance and brought the wisdom shining to the world which helps the human life be happy and develop better.

Giving the dharma words to the ceremony, Most Venerable Master Thich Minh Thien preached to the premier vows of the Buddha Amitabha as well as three luggage’s parts of the cultivators of the Pure Pland Sect in their Belief, Vow and Practise. When having enough these conditions, they will attain the dharma of reciting the Buddha’ name and their cultivation ideal.

Everyone felt an extreme sense of elation as the Flower Lantern festival ended. .
