Great ceremony to celebrate the birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara at Dong Cao Pagoda - Thanh Hoa

From March 15th-18th, 2025, Dong Cao Pagoda (belonging to the Hoằng Pháp sect) in Thanh Hoa organized the ritual of Five Hundred Names of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara to celebrate Her Birthday (February 19th, LC).

Expressing gratitude to Her and praying for peace and happiness for Buddhists families, many followers returned to Dong Cao Pagoda to commemorate the Birthday of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara on the evening of Feb. 19th, LC.

 

The Abbot of the pagoda, Junior Thich Tam Hung offered incense and guided the mass in practicing meditation. After that, all attendees solemnly and respectfully worshiped Five-Hundred Names of Bodhisattva. The Abbot gave a lecture on the vows of Bodhisattva and the meaning of Her titles to Buddhists.

 

The mass offered  candleflowers to the Bodhisattva statue, praying the light of compassion and wisdom would spread everywhere, all living beings would always reside in the Bodhisattva's support.

 

The ceremony ended in joy for the participants.
