HANOI: The retreat of "Toward Pure Land" celebrating of the Amitabha Buddha' s Birthday

Every year, in the 11th lunar month, practitioners following Dharma door of Pure Land rejoiced towards the Amitabha Buddha’s birthday.

Thinking to 48 vows of Amitabha Buddha about supporting beings, on Dec. 16th, 2018 (lunar November 10th, The year of Dog), Hoa Phuc Pagoda at Hoa Thach Commune - Quoc Oai District - Hanoi City held One-day retreat with the theme "Toward Pure Land" for nearly 1,000 Buddhists attending.

Although the weather gradually shifted to the winter, drizzly and cold winds are pouring into the North, but it does not stop the diligent spirit to learn the Dharma of the Buddhists. It is praiseworthy for the practice spirit of Buddhist group at Tan Co Pagoda (Hai Duong) did not mind on distance, crossed nearly 100 kilometers to go to the pagoda with fellow co-cultivators.

Responding to the request for cultivating of Buddhists, Venerable Thich Giac Nguyen - Abbot of Tien Giang Buddhist Legal Department; Head of manager board of Vietnamese Buddhist Council in Go Cong town; Abbot of Hue Quang pagoda proved and shared dharma words to the retreat.

The Venerable preached the great merit of Amitabha Buddha, the accurate practice path of teachings of the Pure Land section, together with the Buddhist cultivating method in life to gain happiness, delight. Particular, the Venerable also solved the problems that Buddhists are encountering on their cultivating.

In the afternoon, under instructing by Venerable Thich Tam Hoa - Abbot of Hoa Phuc pagoda with the monks, the mass participated in the session chanting, prostrating and thinking toward the realms of Pure Land, about 48 vows of Amitabha Buddha to nurture solid spirituality, to cultivate constructing a pure land in this world, then step forward the Pure Land of Amitabha Buddha in the future.

Before closing the retreat, Ven. Thich Tam Hoa sent invitations to Buddhists on Jan. 27th, 2019, on December 22, the lunar calendar for the last retreat of the year of the dog "The Ritual of Thanking Dharma - Exhibition Photography of 10th Anniversary on the Path of Propagating Dharma".
