Hoang Phap Monk Join the Monastic Confession 2019

In the afternoon of May 20th, 2019 (April 16th, LC), all the Hoằng Pháp monks came to Pháp Bửu temple, Hóc Môn district to attend the monastic confession before the Vassavasa or rain-retreat, organized by the government of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Hoc Mon. The Vassavasa 2563 according to the Buddhist calendar.

 Attending the ceremony there is the presence of the most Venerable Thich Thien Minh, the committee chairman of the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Hoc Mon, Ven. Thich Le Tam, the standing committee of Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha in Hoc Mon, together with the monks from other temples reside in Hoc Mon and the attending 3 months retreat (varṣā) of 120 practitioners in Hoc Mon.

Having done the monastic confession, Ven. Thich Minh Thanh on the behalf of the organizer addressed some words to all. The practitioners have to follow the monastic regulation and keep well the rules made by the Buddha himself for the monk during the varṣā period. Three months is a long term of dwelling in one place, so people need to give compliance with retreat schedule. Three months with 6 times of gathering to recite the Rules, practitioners won’t allow absenting more than twice. Besides, he asked the monk to guide the lay Buddhist how to support the sangha during the varṣā time not just at Phap Buu temple but  Hoc Mon area as well.
