Lantern Candle Lighting Ceremony to commemorate the ordination of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara

To respect and remember the ordination of Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara, on Nov. 2nd, 2023 (June 19th, LC) Hoang Phap pagoda held a penitential ritual of Her five-hundred titles for thousands of devout Buddhists to attend.

The title Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara is prostrated on the lunar days, such as: the Birthday of February 19; Enlightenment Day of June 19; The day of ordination is September 19th to guide people back to a pure mind, spread peaceful energy, and ease fears caused by greed, anger, ignorance and the busyness of life; thanks to this, people will become more peaceful and happier.

All attendees listened to the meaning of Bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara's title, Her career preached by Junior Thich Tam Trinh. After that, the ceremony took place according to traditional rituals, the monks chanted the Bodhisattva's name, after each title, the participants joined in: "Namo Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva". With the sincerity and respect of the mass, attendees pray for world peace, the safety of living beings, prosperity and happiness in our homes.

On that night program, there was also the presence of singers Quynh Trang and Ka Linh with Buddhist songs and an extremely impressive firework display.

The ritual closed to the joy of all participants.
