Last day of Summer Retreat 2022 at Dong Cao Pagoda

On July 18th, 2022 is the last day of the retreat. After a few moments of walking meditation, young learners had breakfast with the monks.

Before taking refuge in Three Jewels, Junior Thich Tam Nghien shared the meaning of taking refuge, why should we take refuge? He explained Buddhist words, such as: Repentance, Three Jewels, original master, practice reminding monk, dharma name, etc".

At exactly 9:00 am, the Sangha came to demonstrate and offer incense to Buddha for taking refuge. After inviting the monks to transmit precepts, on behalf of the monks, Junior Thich Tam Hung granted Three refuge and Five precepts. At the rite’s end is releasing creatures to spread love to sentient beings.

After the afternoon’s meditation it was the retreat closing moment under the monks’ demonstration, Buddhist Tinh Hung, the Head of Youth Club, Buddhists and volunteers.

Looking back on the retreat’s week, the program has brought useful things and granted meaningful gifts from doctrine contests, folk dance, Dong Cao Got Talent, extracurricular games to interact with monks, Buddhists, volunteers, Youth Club.

Finally, young practitioners would receive gifts from the Most Thich Chan Tinh, Head of Hoang Phap Pagoda, HCMC, and gifts from Organizers.

This chance, the Head of Organizer has some words of gratitude to the Sangha, local authorities, benefactors, Buddhists, volunteers and parents who together with monks have organized a meaningful retreat for the youth in Summer Retreat 2022.

The retreat closed in memory of students when they were no longer able to live in the temple. This will be a beautiful remembrance in their youth.
