Monks of Hoang Phap Pagoda Joining in the Monastic Confession

In the morning of June 07th, 2020 (intercalary month of April 16th, Lunar Calendar), Senior Ven. Thich Chan Tinh and monks of Hoằng Pháp Pagoda came to Quang Tho temple, Hóc Môn district to attend the monastic confession, which was organized by the Director Board of Viet Nam Buddhist Sangha in Hoc Mon in the rain-retreat 2564 according to Buddhist calendar.

The Buddha taught His disciples to settle indoors during the rainy season. Since then this tradition has been carried out regularly every year in the Sangha and has brought many benefits for cultivating practitioners, as well as the lay Buddhists. Duration of the Rain-Retreat is from April’s full moon to July’s full moon.

After doing the monastic confession, the monks came back to the pagoda of taking the rain-retreat. This time is the Sangha members looking back themselves within a year, improving their cultivation, purifying body and mind, making a firming foundation for the way of Buddhist practice.

During the three months, the practitioners have to complete the sessions: Chanting, meditating, reciting the Buddha's name, prostrating the Buddha, etc...to show his majesty and vows in his daily cultivation, as well as organizing to preach the precepts, demeanor, the basic Buddha-dharma and Pratimoksa Sutra twice a month.
