Mother’s Heart – A Talk to the University New Student

By a funny opening, the preacher had driven the plot artfully and cleverly to attract all the young people from the hot news from the showbiz world to the daily life in the family. By this, he wisely reminds all students there is a very obvious matter that most of them engage in it. They all know well about some famous people’s life, even in detail; but almost forget their parent’s birthday, what they like… From this reality he emphasizes the great kindness from parents which all receive from the day we were born is undeniably, and we have to remember whole life to repay. Some people show their great thanks to those who just help him when he needs but never left any words to their parent, who spend the whole life for caring for him until dying.
There is nothing new in his Talk, just repeat the same thing during the Spirit Month: remind about the filial piety, according to his way.
Every year we have a Spirit Month, time for recalling our passed relatives and showing the present piety to parent still alive. This is a very good chance for people to go back and make a repentance to parent the wrong things he had done. Or just sitting nearby them and listening to their old stories…
Without parent, we can’t be here to become someone in the world no matter a well-known or an ordinary man. Therefore don’t be ever forget this kindness and stop the tear-drop from our parent face.
Because the listeners are the young people, Ven. Thich Tam Chanh didn’t send to much Buddhist Philosophy or Dharma world in the Talk, the just normal world for reminding the role and duty of children to parent.
Finished the talk, a dharma gift was sent to all students and staffs and some books from Hoang Phap temple.
